The FAR Fund Project’s opening lecture was held in New Orleans on February 5, 2009.

The lecture, by Dr. Ghislaine Boulanger, was titled,

I Don’t Want This Knowledge: Understanding the Effects of Hurricane Katrina on Therapists and Therapy in New Orleans.”

In Progress:

Report on our opening lecture and workshops;   reading & discussion group about adult onset trauma at the NOBPC starting 11/4/09 (FULL); new and improved website where we can post upcoming events for clinicians in our local mental health community as well as special trainings or workshops.

 
 
   FURTHER CE INFORMATION:

The February lecture and workshops were planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the American Psychoanalytic Association and the New Orleans-Birmingham Psychoanalytic Center.  The American Psychoanalytic Association is accredited by the

ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians and takes responsibility for the content, quality, and scientific integrity of this CME activity. The American Psychoanalytic Association designated the lecture for a maximum of 1.5 hours and each workshop for a maximum of 3.0 hours in category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award.

These programs were approved for the noted general continuing education contact hours by the LCA, and by the National Association of Social Workers, LA Chapter as authorized by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners, and may be applied toward the continuing education requirements for licensure renewal for social workers.
